In this article, we respond to comments raised in an Agora published by Global Constitutionalism on "The Internationalists: How a Radical Plan to Outlaw War Remade the World." Specifically, we address (1) the causal efficacy of international law, (2) the causal mechanism by which international law changes state behavior, (3) how new is the New World Order, and (4) we defend our normative claim in close of the book that, for all its imperfections, the New World Order is better than what came before it.
